Ah Yes! It’s Halloween again!

Ugly witches, bed-sheeted ghosts, and ghoulish zombies are on the prowl again. There is a chill in the air and…wait a minute, wasn’t it in the low nineties today approaching 100 degrees by this coming weekend? It’s not Halloween? Oh! I know! There are lords and ladies, gypsies and pirates swinging swords and turkey legs. The Renaissance Festival is commencing! But of course… now that I think of it… Ren faire just ended about a month ago. Let’s see…the stormtroopers are out in force along with the X-men and Ghostbusters. It must be Comicon! No…hmmm…we already did that… or, are we going to do that? Now I know I saw Batman, Catwoman, Scarecrow, and the Joker. I guess that means it could only be one thing…
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY
AZspidey and friends are really trying to get some mileage out of their Halloween costumes this year.
This dedicated group of over-aged trick-or-treaters spent more time getting dressed than they actually were at the gig. The spectators (young and old) seemed to have really gotten a kick out of the whole thing!

What great fun! I am impressed that you can do a gallery of photos. I didn’t know that could be done.
Your intro created curiosity and interest for the reader. Well done.
Do have a question: what was Free comic book day for? Was it just promotion or for charity or other purpose?

It seems to be a promotion for comic books. Apparently, it is held every year on the first Saturday in May all over the country. Comic book stores bring in guest artists for signings and character actors to build excitement. And, of course you can get a free comic book during the hours of the promotion.

My friend, dstipes, was the VFX supervisor for Star Trek Next Gen and Voyager. We were really out of the loop with FCBD, but we will make a note of it for next year! Thanks for commenting!
