About Cookster
Hello everyone! 
My name is Diane Cook, aka the Cookster, and I have been making costumes for almost thirty years and sewing everyday clothes since I was about ten. My mother was what I would refer to as a fabricoholic because she seemed addicted to buying a lot of fabric whenever she saw something she liked. I realized I also had this affliction when I went to work for JoAnn’s a few years ago and found myself inexplicably drawn to certain fabrics.
In college, I found myself designing and creating some rather weird-looking clothes that looked more like costumes than everyday wear. It wasn’t until I got married and had kids that I was able to be really creative and make costumes for Halloween. It seemed my sons always wanted to be something on Halloween that needed to be made from scratch because no pattern actually existed for it at the time.
Now the kids have grown up, but the costuming thing never went away because now, although Halloween is still a big event around here, there are the Comicons! We all live in beautiful Arizona and as some of you from the forums might wonder…yes, I am AZspidey’s mom.
